"I remember when this song was the bomb!! Actually, it still is. I also remember when Club Nouveau came out and there was talk about how they (mainly Jay King) exploited their relationship w/Timex Social Club using shady, underhanded conniving methods to get out there.

Marcus sets things in order so you know what really went down. But in addition, he also sheds light on the internal strife and conflict that was going on with just TSC alone. It was sad to see how it all played out because I truly believe Timex had much more upside had they been able to keep together.

It's also fun to reminisce on those times when reading the things he writes about what happened on tour with some of Hip-Hop's greatest (e.g. Run DMC, LL Cool J, etc.)

I believe, in the hands of the right screenwriter, this could actually make a great documentary and possibly even a movie."

"Very insightful.
It's always good to be able to find out whatever happened to the groups who are or were one-hit wonders and through reading this book it gives you very insightful detail as to how it all started and how it all ended. Candid to say the least, Marcus Thompson and the Social Club have definitely carved their own 1 hit wonder nitch in time.
From then to now, it appears that the Social Clubs' adventure was one that was historical and tragic as well.
It's a microcosm of what fame and being popular can do and the places it can take you as well as mirrored image of a successful group that was both taken advantage of and exploited and that in itself is a roadmap for most of our young up and coming acts today. They should know that fame is a hard road and that the destruction can come from within if you are not prepared for the business, it can chew you up.

Being able to have a number one record and being able to tour with the Kings of Rock Run DMC and all those acts I'm sure was life-changing for the members of the group.

Buy it...........
It's an easy read and you won't find a lot of words that you need a thesaurus to figure out.......It's an ABC-XYZ no-brainer.

Thanks, Mr. Thompson and Timex Social Club.....the message was loud and clear then and now......Rumors."
