This book considers the contribution of venture capital to innovation from a comprehensive and transversal approach which is based on three levels of analysis: micro, meso and macroeconomic. Thus, venture capitalists’ behavior and their relationships with innovative entrepreneurs are examined in order to understand the influence of such funding on the innovation capacity of young companies and their performances. The book also looks at the impact of venture capital on the industrial scale, regarding the emergence and development of high tech industries and new technologies such as green techs. Finally, the analysis deals with the comparative efforts in venture capital in countries (US, Europe, etc.), the factors determining the scale of funding and its influence on countries’ innovative performances.
