My Story So Far is Alastair Cook's personal account of his astonishing rise to cricketing stardom. As a school player in Bedford, the young left-hander broke record after record, before taking on the captaincy of the Under-19 England team for the Under-19 World Cup in 2004. Cook well and truly arrived on the world stage in March 2006 with a century in his debut test against India, becoming only the 16th England player in history to score 100 on debut. After playing an integral part in the summer series against Sri Lanka and Pakistan, he was called up for the Ashes squad charged with defending the trophy they so memorably won in 2005. This inside story of one of the finest young talents in world cricket is told with the intelligence and determination that characterize Cook's performances at the crease—a fascinating insight into life as a top-level professional sportsman, from a major star of the present, and the future.
