Peter Grant was born on Vancouver Island -unlike most everybody he has met there since. He is the author of 7 books about the Island and has travelled the length and breadth of the islands by kayak, rowboat, bicycle, cross-country-skis, on foot, in airplanes and helicopters, on freighters, whalers, sloops, Zodiacs and a converted logging tug, in railway Budd cars and pickup trucks, slept in canvas tents, cabins, yurts and on the CPR night boat. Whether writing on assignment or just to see for himself, Peter has spent much of his life visiting the amazing, remarkable, in-your-face or downright strange places and people that abound on these islands.
