English

About the Author Sonia Weiss can tell you everything you need to know about collecting antiques. A reporter and writer for more than 20 years, she was raised around porcelains, glass, and contemporary art, all passionately collected by her parents. As a young adult, Sonia collected antique cameras and Depression glass. She is still an avid collector of items from the Arts and Crafts and Art Nouveau periods, including art glass, pottery, beaded purses, and boxes in various media. Sonia has written many articles on collectibles for Joy of Collecting magazine in addition to a number of feature stories on antiques and the people who collect them. In addition to The Unofficial Guide to Collecting Antiques, her books include The Complete Idiot's Guide to Baby Names, The Pocket Idiot's Guide to Baby Names, and The Complete Idiot's Guide to Affair-Proof Love, all for Alpha Books; The Cigar Enthusiast (Berkley); and The Metro Denver Relocation Guide (Heritage Media Corp.). She contributed to For the Love of Dogs and Hope, Faith & Healing (Publications International, Ltd.), and the Jones Encyclopedia of the Information Infrastructure.
