More About This Title Optical Parametric Chirp Pulse Amplification -Recent Developments

English

OPCPA is an alternative technique to "conventional" laser amplification with the possibility to generate ultrashort pulses, the highest energies, and a wide variety of wavelengths. The technology is now finding widespread acceptance due to its tremendous possibilities. All major laser groups are working on different implementations, and the laser field is experiencing a major shift towards OPCPA. This book covers the major aspects of history, theory, numerical simulations and practical implementations and applications, as well as the latest achievements in the field of OPCPA.

Dr. Jens Biegert is the head of the Attoscience and Ultrafast Optics group at ICFO, Barcelona, Spain. Having obtained his Vordiplom from Würzburg University, Germany, his M.Sci. in Physics from the University of New Mexico, U.S.A., and his Ph.D. from the Technical University Munich, Germany. He led a research group at ETH Zurich, Switzerland, before moving to ICFO, Spain. Professor Biegert?s research comprises the generation of ultrashort and intense light sources and their application in extreme nonlinear optics and attosecond science. He has received several awards and fellowships, including the Allen Award of the Optical Society of America.
