Virginia Smith is Professor of Art at Baruch College of the City University of New York, where she created a graphics program for the Art Department, and founded Artograph, a publication about major contemporary designers. In addition to teaching for over 20 years, she is a graphic designer of numerous book jackets, books, logos, and publicity for leading publishers and corporations. She has served as president of the American Printing History Association and as an officer of the Society of Publication Designers. Professor Smith received her degree in literature and art history from Wellesley College, and received her M.F.A. in Graphic Design at Yale University.
