SAMUEL M. TURNER, PhD, is Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and Director, Anxiety Prevention and Treatment Research Center at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Turner is author and editor of a number of related books including Diagnostic Interviewing (with Hersen), and Handbook of Clinical Behavior Therapy (with Calhoun and Adams). He is Associate Editor of American Psychologist and has served on the editorial boards of numerous scientific journals, including Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, Behavior Therapy, and Behaviour Research and Therapy. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Professional Psychology.

MICHEL HERSEN, PhD, is Professor of Psychology at Nova Southeastern University. He is past president of the Association for Advancement of Behavior Therapy; Diplomate, American Board of Professional Psychology; Diplomate, American Board of Medical Psychotherapists; and Distinguished Practitioner in Psychology, National Academies of Practice. He is the author or coauthor of 217 papers, 102 books, and 84 chapters; and coeditor of several journals, including Clinical Psychology Review, Journal of Clinical Geropsychology, Behavior Modification, Journal of Family Violence, and Journal of Anxiety Disorders.
