Secrets of the ‘face’ are revealed by Korea’s leading cartoonist Heo, Young-man:
What he discovered about his life-long subject after 34 years of drawing 130 thousand cartoons

Editorial Reviews:
Korea’s leading cartoon artist Heo, Young-man admits to having been fascinated and fixated on people’s faces throughout his entire career in cartoon drawing. Now, after more than 30 years of drawing over 130 thousand cartoons, he has come to a conclusion about the topic that has obsessed him for so long: the face tells many stories about the person.
Heo, Young-man has been drawing as long as anyone who knows him can remember. Throughout a long career, he has become known as the artist who has drawn more faces of Koreans than anybody in the world. In the early days of his career, he found himself pondering a question that has remained with him ever since: why do certain types of people share similar facial features, and do those similarities have anything to do with the life of the person? As an artist bringing characters to life in his cartoons, it was only natural that his interest revolved around the connection between the lives and faces of people. If there was anybody who was qualified and suited to studying the subject, it was him. After all, he has been drawing and creating faces of characters for thirty-four years. But arriving at a solid conclusion on the subject was not easy. When he became serious about and decided to write about it, it took him three years of research, and two more years of personal training with the leading face analysis expert, Shin Ki-won.

The references he turned to during his research and study cover a wide range of people from around the world; from the East to the West, and from ancient times to contemporary times. They include ancient Chinese figures, entertainers, politicians and ordinary people from many countries including Korea and Japan. He has read and studied every book on face analysis ever published in Korea, and also drew on resources from China and Japan. During his research, he was able to accumulate a tremendous amount of knowledge about face analysis, in addition to learning about the life wisdom of other countries. Some of the interesting facts he gathered include: one, the face can indeed foretell a person’s life and destiny, and two, what is important is looking into the inner shape of the person, instead of just reading and analyzing the details of the face, if you really want to succeed at the art of face reading.

Now, he is sharing what he knows about face analysis in his latest release Face Analysis: What Your Face Foretells. While enjoying his witty stories, readers will also grow their wisdom of life, and as a bonus, their understanding of how everything in life works. Face Analysis will certainly stand out in many readers’ minds as the most inspiring masterpiece ever written by the author.
