More About This Title The Way of Jesus: A Journey of Freedom for Pilgrims and Wanderers

English

The Way of Jesus is written for those on a journey—from spiritual sojourners to religious refugees. With a focus on our yearning for the Spirit and spirituality, this book opens pathways for experiencing the powerful simplicity in the life and Way of Jesus. All journeys are spiritual by nature, even if we can’t always see the full picture of where God is leading us or why He is leading us there. In their own twenty-year journey, Jonathan and Jennifer Campbell have joined with others to rediscover and embody the life of Jesus. They share a way of living out our spirituality from the core of our being to the very connections that define our humanity. The Way of Jesus weaves their poignant story with a thoughtful exploration of the intersection of culture, community, and spiritual identity. Their adventure is a journey with Jesus toward freedom and a life filled with his love, truth, and power.

About the Authors.

English

“This is a book that deserves to be read.” (www.christianbookshops.org.uk, January 2006)"Many people find Jesus attractive but have a hard time finding him within the bounds of traditional churches. While I remain optimistic about local church life, I am patient-even empathetic—with those who struggle with it. If you are one of those people, The Way of Jesus is an intelligent and gentle guide for finding and following Jesus beginning right where you are."
—Todd Hunter, national director, Alpha-USA, and former national director, Vineyard-USA

"Spiritual seekers—whether Eastern, Western, Christian, Jewish, or Buddhist—will be inspired by the Campbells' bold honesty and authenticity in their account of their personal journey. Read this book and you will feel welcomed and loved by fellow travelers who encourage you on the Way."
—Neil Baker, M.D., physician executive, Seattle, Washington

"The Campbells lovingly guide us toward an authentic and living encounter with Jesus without all the religious paraphernalia often associated with the institutional church. This book is a gift to those seeking to follow Jesus faithfully in a way that makes real sense to twenty-first century seekers."
—Alan Hirsch, author, Shaping of Things to Co; founding director, Forge Mission Training Network, Melbourne, Australia

"Jonathan Campbell’s story is one of deep questioning rooted in faithful, intentional practice. He demonstrates that there are no good shortcuts for Jesus’ pilgrim people."
—Linda Bergquist, church starter strategist, North American Mission Board, San Francisco

"Jonathan Campbell is armed with both conviction and courage, and for that reason he is a dangerous man, who believes what he lives and lives what he believes. This book tells the story behind his convictions and demonstrates the courage with which he follows them."
—Neil Cole, author, Cultivating a Life for God; cofounder, Organic Church Greenhouse movement

"Jonathan Campbell provides us with a guidebook to authenticity—a way to follow Jesus that encourages us to be whole and centered. While many have left the church in search of Jesus, Campbell gives legitimate hope that all who wander are not lost."
—Rt. Rev. Ray Lévesque, founder, New Gatherings; director, First National Learning Center

"Since we met Jonathan and Jennifer Campbell as a whole family, we were impressed to see how they were ready to follow Jesus without compromise. You will be encouraged and learn from their experiences by reading this book!"
—Daniel and Cornelia Hari, authors, Healing Like Jesus, Luzern, Switzerland

"Jonathan Campbell has courageously followed a call to imagine and practice a way of Christian life in the midst of a North American church that too quickly sells itself out to the latest trends or images of success. One may not agree with all of his conclusions or descriptions, but he needs to be listened to because he was willing to go on a radical journey of pilgrimage and discovery. In that journey he reconnected with the centrality of Jesus and rediscovered the need to listen to others before imagining what God may be up to in our neighborhoods and in the reforming of Christian life in Western culture."
—Al Roxburgh, Canada

"Jonathan and Jennifer Campbell carry within them a unique mix of ‘something old and something new’ which enables them to speak about the journey of life with a fresh perspective. Read this and you will venture with them to discover truth beyond the trappings."
—Brett Johnson, author, Convergence; founder, The Institute for Innovation, Integration, and Impact

"A cosmic gypsy experience, a pilgrimage paced by light speed and amoebic slowness in the same eternal moment, discovering that eternity is always, always now.  The Campbells have encouraged me by their courageous love of Jesus, by framing some edges I had not quite seen."
—Marsha Gilliland, manager, Intel Corporation
