More About This Title The Seeker's Way: Cultivating the Longings of a Spiritual Life

English

TheSeeker’s Way brings hope to all who are longing for deeper considerations of what it means to connect with the divine. It serves as a guide to those who want to open themselves more fully to meaning, authenticity, and wholeness. In this book, author, leadership coach, and spiritual seeker Dave Fleming explores six central longings: From reliance on answers to the opening of experience; From activity to meaning; From control to compost; From Shadwo and Illusion to substance and reality; From performance to expression and freedom; From segregation to community

The Seeker’s Way explains the practices that will help satisfy each of these very human longings and explores what it means to take a spiritual journey. Using the individual stories of prominent contemporary figures the book provides models of the seeker’s way. Their life stories and ideas about the spiritual journey illuminate the many ways that these central longings can be addressed.

THE AUTHOR.

"Dave Fleming tells us, “Seekers are not meant to travel alone.’ The Seeker’s Way provides rich interviews with several sage traveling companions. At the end of each chapter, you’ll feel, as I did, that you’ve just had a leisurely and meaningful conversation with two charming, winsome people—the interviewee and the author himself."
--Brian McLaren, pastor, Cedar Ridge Community Church; author, A New Kind of Christian; and fellow, Emergent (emergentvillage.com)

"Honest and real-to-life, The Seeker’s Way helps you get on a path of discovery that will not take you home but will allow the path to become home. The Seeker’s Way gives you help with the answer found only in the journey. If you are looking for a lazy, simple, and utilitarian way to live, this book is not for you. If, on the other hand, you want to find a healthy, adventurous, and hopeful way to lead your life, this book is a great place to begin."
--Joseph R. Meyers, author, The Search to Belong: Rethinking Intimacy, Community, and Small Groups

"Wisdom is one, and this fine book draws from prime sources to lead us to the big and perennial picture. Read—and find truth that is always true."
--Richard Rohr, O.F.M., Center for Action and Contemplation, Albuquerque, New Mexico
