CHRISTIAN B. SCHLEGEL, PhD, received the Dipl El Ing ETH degree from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich, in 1984, and the MS and doctorate degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, South Bend, Indiana, in 1986 and 1989, respectively. Currently, he is iCORE Professor of Digital Communications at the University of Alberta, Canada.

LANCE C. PEREZ, PhD, received the BSEE degree from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, Virginia, in 1987 and the MSEE and PhD degrees from the University of Notre Dame, Indiana, in 1989 and 1995, respectively. He is currently a member of the faculty in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Nebraska.
