This collection of essays sets out to ignite a discussion about the future of New Zealand's politics by reaching out to engage members of the public in the debate and seeing just how far the public's interest extends. Contributing to this volume are major scholars in fields such as parliamentary studies, electoral studies, law reform, and communication, making this the only publication in which the topic of public interest in New Zealand has been canvassed.


Mark Francis is a professor of political science at the University of Canterbury who has worked extensively on the area of constitutional history. He is the author of Herbert Spencer and the Invention of Modern LifeJim Tully is associate professor and head of the School of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Canterbury.
