Established in 1998, Éditions du Flâneur is a publishing house from Taiwan, noted for translating the most influential humanities, social science works. The publications of Flâneur represent a high quality of reading with refined design and patient editing. Not only academic appreciations, we also won the praise from the masses and the media. In 05, 07, 08, 09 and 2010, our publications won the China Times Open Book Award (one of the major book awards in Taiwan). International newspapers and magazines, including Publisher Weekly, had stories on Flâneur as a distinctive independent publishing house.
2009 was a year of changes. Ms. Mei-Li LIAO, the former vice president of Eslite Bookstores (the largest chain bookstore in Taiwan), is now our new CEO. Éditions du Flâneur is reformed into Flâneur Culture Lab, adding two more branches besides publishing: media and cultural creatives, aiming to blend“cultural spirit”with“business operation”and create a new
cultural milieu.
In the coming years, Flâneur Cultural Lab will continue to publish more translated books and e-books on humanity, society, as well as global trends, technology, design and life styles. We will also introduce more books written by Taiwan writers, like Global Cinderellas, and The Age of Book Design, to create a broader, freer, and more dynamic landscape of reading.
If you have the latest book news, please send it to us with no hesitation.
We are looking forward to introduce fascinating foreign books to Taiwan readers.
