Submission Guidelines

Dear Author, Thank you for your enquiry. Our publisher/producer submission service is free unless we land you a deal that you accept. Even then our 15% commission (plus 20% vat if applicable) is taken only when we forward your fee/royalties to you having collected them from the rights-buyer. Part 1 of the service you complete by emailing us for each work the following items typed if possible in black, 1.5 line-spaced: i) first chapter, scene, section, or treatment, including illustration samples where applicable in works of reference or children’s picture books; ii) ½ -1 page plot or topic snapshot, naming the genre, and citing if possible a top seller title & writer in the genre that your work targets; iii) if non-fiction, please list your credentials. Publishers tend to note a writer expert on the work’s topic and or known to the intended readership; iv) a list of agents/publishers/producers already tried with the work. If the writing shows us a possible market we think we can reach for the work, we send you Part 2:3 of our service, including our offer to act for you in pitching* the work to leading publishers and or producers. If you appoint us to act, part 2 then covers you to receive our pilot-edit and pitch-prep services, bringing you to Part 3:3. Part 3:3 of the service lists items that you mail us for putting with our letter promoting the work to targeted rights buyers and acquisition teams. Part 3:3 includes the agency’s publisher response summary, reporting to you publisher feedback on pitches. Please be warned the summary may not be that informative as publishers may ignore or give little time to reporting back on pitches they decline. *THE PITCH We are a small experimental agency with only unpublished writers on our books so please try other agents before you sign up to representation by us. Publishing is a tough business and rights buying decisions tend to be made behind closed doors, where you nor we can speak for your offer. If your writing suggests a potential market to us we work all out with you to ensure your pitch looks and reads at its best to us. Though we believe pitch preparation to be crucial please be aware success is never guaranteed. The agency represents main genres to leading rights buyers worldwide. Rates. The agency’s commission rates are (plus 20% vat if you are vat-registered): • Writing only – rights and use-license sales, for books, translation, film, screen, stage, radio, e-books/readers: 15% UK 25% non-UK • Writing only - rights and use-license sales, for marketing and advertising media (press & electronic) and on-product: 33.34 % UK & non-UK • Graphics and picture books (with & without writing); illustration; animation; character creations: - publishing, press, film, screen, e-book/reader use-licenses: 25% UK & non-UK - marketing/advertising media (press & electronic) & on-product use-licenses : 33.34% Liability disclaimer We take great care with your work and are committed to the highest ethical work practices. Promotion is open and competitive though, and we disclaim liability in event of damage, loss, or disclosure of your work - all unknown to date in our experience - in course of submission to rights-buyer prospects.
