Born in 1935, Hiromi Shinya is Professor of Surgery at Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshive University and head of the endoscopic center at Beth lsrael Medical Center in New York City, where he pioneered techniques in colonoscopy that remain in use today. Of worldwide renown, he maintains active practices in both New York and Tokyo.
