More About This Title ACROSS GREAT DIVIDES

English

As Jews, life becomes increasingly difficult for identical twin sisters Eva and Inge under the oppressive and anti-Semitic laws of Nazi Germany. After witnessing the horrors of Kristallnacht, they flee their beloved homeland, finally finding a new home for themselves in the beautiful country of South Africa; however, just as things begin to feel safe, their new home becomes caught up in its own battles of bigotry and hate under the National Party’s demand for apartheid. Will Eva and Inge ever be allowed to live in peace? Complete at 75,462 words, my compelling historical fiction novel, Across Great Divides, is a tale of one family’s struggle to survive in a world tainted with hate, and the power of love that held them all together.

I was born in Cape Town, South Africa, and my grandparents were European Jews who fled their home as Hitler rose to power. It's their story that inspired me to write Across Great Divides. To date, I’ve sold more than 2,400 copies of Across Great Divides. I’m also the author of a middle-grade book, Once Upon a Time in Venice, and I’m working on my third novel, which also takes place during the World War II era.

Praise for Across Great Divides:

“…a beautiful story worth every minute of your time. Will captivate you from the very start all the way to the finish, leaving you wanting more and disappointed when the story reaches its conclusion.” The Silver Petticoat Review

"This is a hauntingly beautiful story of faith, family, and redemption, centered in one of the darkest periods in human history. Written with great poise and depth, Roy captivates the reader with a tale of one family’s struggle to survive in a world tainted with hate, capturing the raw emotion of the time, and the power of love that held them all together. Across Great Divides is a prime example of how historical fiction should be written- engaging, emotional, and utterly unputdownable. Highly recommended!" EpicBookQuest.com
