More About This Title Taking Possession with Jesus

English

The focus of this book is not how to acquire material blessings and varied forms of success, but rather how a believer is to become what God requires them to be, in order to fulfil His purposes and to walk in the fullness of His blessings, both spiritually and materially.

The Church today is in numerous ways similar to the nation of Israel in the Old Testament. God has chosen the Church to be His chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation and a people belonging to God (1 Peter 2:9) just like He chose the Israelites to be His people. Both the Church and the Israelites were chosen purely on the basis of God’s grace. The believers who constitute the Church have been delivered from slavery in the Kingdom of darkness and given freedom in Christ (Galatians 5:1a) just like the Israelites were delivered from bondage in Egypt and brought into the Promised Land.

The cited similarities are not exhaustive but are sufficient to assert that numerous lessons can be learnt by the Church from the Israelites and their leaders. I pray that you will be thoroughly equipped for the fulfilment of your God-given mandate as you read through the chapters of this book, which is based on the Book of Deuteronomy.
