The Work
At the source of all food coming from the earth, there is a seed. The grain of wheat is behind our bread, the tomato seed is behind our salads, the alfalfa seed eaten by the cow is behind our cheese, and a grape seed is behind our grape varieties and our wine.
Our society is increasingly concerned about the quality of our food and our environment. There is also growing concern about the loss of biodiversity. We are increasingly turning to organic farming and its products. But is this enough? Moreover, are organic farmers and consumers still aware of the types of seeds that enter their farms and that shape the quality of organic products? How can we become involved in the renewal and rebirth of diversity?
This book aims to connect each citizen to the seed that feeds them, to the people who grow, to the people who transform and to the people who cook. This book also calls for a collective awareness to help restore biodiversity, starting with the biodiversity that we eat and that shapes our landscapes.

Selling Points
- From Neolithic plant domestication to the renewed interest in farmers’ seeds today, the seed is a reflection of our vision of the world and what is on our plate.
- A journey through time, discovering seeds in their historical, scientific, cultural, socio-economic and political context, in the fields and in laboratories, to discover the indivisible histories of agriculture and seeds.
