“Have you ever wondered what the signs of the zodiac really are, and why they have influence on all human beings?”
In June 2035, during an unprecedented shower of falling stars, teenagers Izie De Rossi and her twin brother Sam both discover they are marked by a strange imprint on their arms, representing the constellations of the zodiac. With these imprints come physical and mental abilities out of the ordinary. From that moment onwards, their lives will change forever. The twins find out they are now part of an ancient contract, drawn up at the dawn of time between the first civilizations on Earth and the representatives of the advanced planets in the constellations. The contract seeks to ensure the survival of the human race, and those who bear the imprints must protect mankind throughout the duration of the agreement. These heavenly creatures, each representing one of the twelve zodiacal signs, are known as Guardians and are endowed with supernatural powers.
The contract comes bearing an expiration date, and the countdown to this date begins. According to an ancient prophecy on 13th December 2035, the ecliptic - a path in the sky which symbolises the union between the constellations and the Earth - will break, leading to the destruction of Earth and extinction of the human race. The Guardians must make a crucial decision; do they let the contract expire or should they defend mankind from their written fate. Izie and Sam embark on the fight for the survival of the entire human race, and face tempestuous opposition from those Guardians who are content to forsake the mankind to its destiny. The twins must scour the most dangerous and remote corners of the Earth to find powerful celestial objects in order to defeat their opponents. Amidst the dangers and sacrifices they face in pursuing their mission, Izie meets the handsome and mysterious Riley, to whom she is immediately drawn, and she is overwhelmed by a wave of emotions. But things are not always as they seem. The Guardians must prepare to face each other in a final battle - but who will win the war and what does the future hold for planet Earth?

Sara Lunardi was born and raised in the beautiful seaside town of Genoa, Italy, where she studied for a degree in Italian, Spanish and English Literature, specializing in psychology and sociology.
After spending a few years in Switzerland, she moved permanently to London, a city that she has made her home and which provides the setting for much of her writing.
Sara works as manager of a wellness and beauty centre, and as beauty consultant for various prestigious brands of cosmetics. She also loves fashion and art, areas closely connected with the world of aesthetics.
Sara has always been a hungry reader and consumer of books of all kinds, and she fell in love with the fantasy genre during adolescence, after a chance reading of the timeless classic 'The Lord of the Rings'.
Her true passion, however, is still writing:
"I think I held a pen before walking. Despite new technology, I've always been fond of the good old pen, scribbling notes on used travel tickets, handkerchiefs and even worn pages of old diaries. It's the only way I'm able to capture and bring to life the ideas that are constantly running through my head."
Sara began writing at school, producing essays, articles, term papers on the humanities, and also collections of poetry. She then continued with more technical writings in the fields of aesthetics and cosmetology, also taking care of the school programme for beautician internships.
However, the idea of writing 'a real novel' has always been on her mind.
'Ecliptic' is her true debut. It’s a YA fantasy/sci-fi and is the first of a saga that bears its name (Ecliptic Saga). She is currently working on the second book, 'The seal of constellation'.

One thing I did not like, was that the story was over and I need the second book. Yes, it is that good. I read this from cover to cover, in one sitting, I could not put it down. I did not have any problems with the way the author wrote this as I got caught up into the emotions and turmoil that the author gave the characters. Can't wait to read the next book. This one is a keeper for your personal library.

This review is from: Ecliptic (Ecliptic Saga) (Kindle Edition)
If I fail my exams this week, I blame this book. I've red it all the way through in one sitting. Technically, it's not a difficult read, but conceptually it's rich and engaging. It has lots of great fights, lots of heart and a startling twist of an ending.
This book is infused with a very real sense of psychological and mystical dislocation and treats its young protagonists as intelligent, 3 dimensional characters struggling with very adult questions.
The story is fast-paced and Lunardi's style of simple, perceptive language and streamlined descriptiveness, serves to bring the characters front and center at all times.
Lunardi's other signature: creating drama through ethical dilemmas, is also a central element of the story and she does a very good job challenging the reader to figure out the real nature hidden behind each personality in the puzzle.
I think the real appeal for Ecliptic comes from the consciousness that we all want to believe that there's something uniquely special about us.
Action, secrecy, innovation, enigma, the power of the universe: there is a lot that one can get out of this book just off of the surface and many more rewards to be found by digging deeper into the text.
