More About This Title Grace Abounding To The Chief Of Sinners (Pure Gold Classics)

English

This Pure Gold Classic has been translated from the original seventeenth century text, and it was further edited and annotated by L. Edward Hazelbaker. This important work is an invaluable resource for anyone who wants to learn about the author of The Pilgrim’s Progress.

First published in 1666, twelve years before the publication of The Pilgrim’s Progress, this autobiography shows what led to Bunyan’s conversion, his struggles to overcome his weaknesses and fears, his growth into spiritual leadership, and his perseverance through many trials and persecutions.

Like L. Edward Hazelbaker’s previous Pure Gold Classic, The Pilgrim’s Progress in Modern English, this newly updated edition of Grace Abounding to the Chief of Sinners extends the life of Bunyan’s writings and makes the author’s original work available to young and old alike in an understandable form.

Bunyan wrote this work while he was imprisoned for his non-conformist convictions and ministry. He rose from a low station in society to become one of England’s most heralded authors and spiritual leaders. This book gives fresh insights into Bunyan’s faith and the experiences that influenced his writings.

L. Edward Hazelbaker, an Evangelical Christian minister, author, and editor, has served in a number of capacities over the last 40 years, including associate pastor, Bible teacher, writer, and worship leader. He is also a vocalist and musician, and plays bass guitar in the worship band at Spring Creek Assembly of God in Edmond, Oklahoma.

As a writer, Hazelbaker is best known for providing readers with updated, completely annotated, and unabridged versions of three Christian classics originally written by John Bunyan in the seventeenth century ("The Pilgrim's Progress," "Grace Abounding," and "The Holy War." These three books make up the Bunyan collection of Pure Gold Classics published by Bridge Logos.

Hazelbaker's latest work is "Weekly Cogs: Christian Thoughts and Cogitations," his original work, published in 2016.
