Quetzal is a mythical bird that lives in the Guatemalan forests. It is told about this bird that if captured and kept in captivity, it dies the day after. For this reason, the name of this bird represents the very symbol of absolute freedom. The soul of Quetzal has always lived in the heart of the descendants of the ancient Maya, like a sort of redemption from the state of slavery imposed to them from the Spanish colonization in Mexico.
