R. K. Williams studied Art and Fashion Design, taking his first job at Opera North, where he created fabulous period outfits and lavish ballgowns for both opera and ballet. He spent six months working in a contemporary art gallery in Los Angeles, before moving to London to work in men s tailoring. Following a brief internship with Vivienne Westwood, he established a successful career as a freelance costume designer and stylist, working for television production companies and agencies on commercials, drama documentaries and pop videos, including Madonna s Ray of Light album. 2004 was spent living and working in New York, before returning to London to work on mainstream television programmes such as QI and The Friday Night Project . Moving out of London to the countryside of Wiltshire, Robert spent ten years recovering from a debilitating illness called Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, which put a sudden end to his career. During this time he painted and wrote. Initially he was so unwell that he could paint and write for no more than an hour at a time, but very gradually his stamina improved, enabling him to become more and more productive and exhibiting his artwork in London. R.K. Williams continues to live in Wiltshire with his partner Steve Smith, a BAFTA awarding-winning television director best known for The Graham Norton Show , and their white Russian wolfhound, Sky. The Ozone Hotel is Robert s first work of fiction and the first of a series of five books.

"Checking into the Ozone Hotel has blown my mind, my imagination and all kinds of other parts of me too. An instant camp classic, but something more than that, R. K. Williams plays with science-fiction conventions, gender, character and big ideas with wild, colourful and lovable virtuosity. A 'Barbarella' and 'Myra Breckinridge' for the YouTube generation, 'The Ozone Hotel' gets five stars on AcidTripAdvisor. R. K. Williams is a name to watch out for."
