Rev. Dr. Herman Brooks is an American Board Certified psychiatrist and an ordained minister in the United Centers for Spiritual Living. He obtained his medical degree from Howard University in Washington, D.C. and did his psychiatric training at Selpuveda VA Medical Center, associated with UCLA, in Los Angeles, CA. After completing his residency, he went on to serve the south Los Angeles community for over 25 years during which time he treated many people with psychiatric disturbances, many of whom were quite depressed. He found helping them to be both challenging and rewarding. He entered ministerial studies at the Holmes Institute School for Religious Science in 1997after being inspired by Rev Dr Michael Beckwith, the founder and spiritual director of the Agape International Center of Truth. Believing a healthy and whole life must include a spiritual component, he completed his studies in 2001 and went on to serve at the Ahiah Center for Spiritual Living in Pasadena, CA. under the leadership of Rev Charles Rose, where he was ordained in 2005. Although no longer in private practice, he continues to serve the community as a psychiatric consultant and to teach spiritual principles and empowerment as a New Thought minister.
