Jonda L Cherry was born January 23 in Chicago, IL and grew up in Bellwood, IL. She received her B.A. from Lewis University in Romeoville, IL and then later received her M.A in Legal Studies. She currently resides in Riverside, IL with her son, Jalen. Her Favorite authors includes: Gloria Mallette, Langston Hughes, Eric Jerome Dickey, Nikki Giovanni and Kahlil Gibran. Her Favorite movies: Anything horror, suspense, action (Sinister, Paranormal Activity, The Conjuring, Texas Chainsaw Massacre to name a few) Selma, Blow, Flight, American Gangster, Ali, and Malcolm X. Q & A: Q: What motivated you to begin writing? A: Well, I always have crazy ideas running around in my head so I decided to write them out. Before I knew it, I'd written three novels in three months. It feels good to be able to convey my crazy ideas in my novels. Now I'm excited to see what I can come up with next. Q: What's your biggest motivation to succeed in life? A My son has and will always be my biggest motivation. My goal is to leave a legacy for him and generations down the line. Q: What are your favorite type of books to write? A: Even though I haven't written any horror books yet, I think horror would be fun. I love love stories but horror is probably by far my favorite. Q: How many more books are we expected to see within the next five years? A: Well, I have three written already- all are published. I'm currently working on my 4th book in 2016. I have so many ideas so I'm expecting at least five more books by 2021.
