Panto Sphinx deals with the effect of time on relationships, showing that in spite of tragedy the passing of time brings its own healing process. These are poems that express the shadows that only become apparent because there is light. The show his familiar characteristics – lyricism, wit and word play – at their best.


Born in Liverpool in 1942, Michael Henry read Modern Languages at Oxford. Soon after graduating he emigrated to Canada, where he worked as a teacher for thirteen years. He had his first poems published in Canadian magazines and also broadcast by the Canadian Broadcasting Company. Since his return to England he has lived in his home-town, Cheltenham. He has published five collections of poems, one with KQBX and four with Enitharmon. He has been widely published in magazines and his poems have also been included in anthologies.
