The knight Joan d'Ermingau is deep in the doldrums. A terrible fall from his horse now has him confined to his charir and he can no longer see to his usual duties. But the sudden news of his wife's pregnancy very soon helps him to regain his good spirits. At least he'll have an heir whom he can train to be a knight... or could it be a daughter?
