More About This Title Love and War

Love and War describes the sources of inspiration artist Rex Whistler drew on during the years—immediately before his tragic early death in battle—for his work as a portrait painter, and as a designer of theater sets and costumes, of books and of advertisements, and above all, as the outstanding mural painter of the interwar years.

Hugh Cecil and Maribel Cecil are the coauthors of Clever Hearts, which won both the Duff Cooper Prize and the Marsh Biography Award, Imperial Marriage, and In Search of Rex Whistler.
