More About This Title Origami


Although for some it is a simple pastime, origami is really an educational art form that allows for the development of artistic and intellectual expression, while at the same time being understood as a meditation technique and an excellent tool for the development of fine motor skills in children. In addition, it encourages concentration, patience, and discipline and it increases creativity and stimulates the imagination. Transforming a simple sheet of paper into a shape is an easy task, but one full of meaning.


Kazuko Maeshiro learned origami through family tradition. She currently she teaches courses and workshops at the Daiwa Center, the Japanese Garden, and in several schools.
