A delightful French-Canadian Christmas story, told with warmth and perception, that features an old wolf, driven by hunger, that had once terrorized the countryside, who takes refuge in a village church on Christmas Eve. The accompanying CD includes a narration of the story and a dozen traditional French-Canadian party songs.


Claude Aubry is  the award-winning author of Agouhanna and collections of French-Canadian legends, as well as translator of Brian Doyle and James Houston. To recognize his achievements, IBBY Canada established the Claude Aubry Award. Pierre Pratt is a winner of the Governor General’s Literary Award, the TD Award for Canadian children’s and youth literature, the Mr. Christie Book Award, the UNICEF prize and the Golden Apple Award.
