We use our eyes to see, but we don't all see the same things. Ever wonder why some people need glasses, what it looks like to be color blind, or what the difference is between being near-sighted and far-sighted? With kid-friendly explanations of vision, light, color, and eye anatomy, How Do You See the World? explores a variety of eye conditions and the helpful tools that people use to better see the world around them. With this book, kids can see the world through someone else's eyes.

"Melikechi offers younger readers a clear view on sight.... The text itself is focused and simple to follow. I appreciate the short paragraph style and the clear diagrams. The complex information included is simplified for elementary level readers and is a terrific addition to non-fiction human body and/or senses categories."

"My child’s glasses got delivered the same day [as] this book... The exact things my child was experiencing are ALL addressed in the book. There are some exercises to mimic vision impairments and my child marveled that their sight was right on the page. They felt more prepared to tell their classmates about the glasses using facts from the book. And they felt less “singled out” by learning that their vision impairment isn’t the only type out there."

“Fosters empathy for those who navigate the world with different visual perspectives.”
—Dr. Erica Meltzer, Optometrist
“Learning about the visual system could not be more fun and simple as How Do You See the World? makes it.”
—Dana Spearin, Optometric Physician
“Intricately explains how the eye functions and emphasizes the importance of eye health in a simple yet comprehensive manner. I recommend adding this book to your child's collection, for it will engage their curiosity and yours.“
—Brittani Carver-Schemper, OD, Eye Doctor and Eye Health Educator (@bettervision)
“This book is the perfect choice for curious young minds who are eager to discover the science behind the gift of sight.”
—Dr. Kelsea Brown, Optometrist
“ The science behind how we see is fascinating and can be complex, but this book breaks it down into easy-to-understand segments. I truly loved sharing this book with my kids and will be recommending it to my patients as well!”
