I lived and worked in, almost continuously, radio and TV broadcasting in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Beijing. It’s an amazing story about an American broadcaster living in China before it was fashionable, and becoming a part of the lives of millions of Chinese during the modernization transitional period.
In the book, there are romances (not all mine), suicides, engagements, broadcasting stories and tales about a foreigner surviving in and inspiring China!

My audience was in the millions from 1996 to 2007 and I was on every night for 11 years and broadcast to at least 20 cities in China. Many of those who listened remember it as permanent part of their lives and an inspiration. But they don’t know about my story. I think that has the potential to sell hundreds of thousands, at least.
But the part that may sell millions of copies in the greater China region is about a woman who was and remains one of the most popular and well-loved authors in China. We were engaged. She committed suicide and it remains a mystery as to why.
My book is about a unique guy who left Detroit, became a painter in Canada, got into broadcasting in Florida and Hawaii, and for the second half of my life, so far, became a top radio and TV personality in “China.”
