Her books have earned copious awards, including “The Global Learning Initiative Award” for the world’s single “Best Trade Book with Educational Application,” partnered by the Association of Educational Publishers and the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, several ‘Children’s Choice Awards’ from the International Reading Association and The Children’s Book Council, ‘The Teachers’ Choice Award,” the “Parents’ Choice Award,” a NAPPA, an IPPY, two Catholic Press Association Awards, and a Storyteller World Award. Her books have received citations from The Parent Council, Parents’ Magazine, the Cooperative Children's Book Center, The Kansas National Education Association Reading Circle, and have appeared on the “Best Books” lists of both Bank Street College of Education, and the Association of Booksellers for Children. One of Ms. Nobisso’s non-fiction titles was named the Northern Minnesota “Best Book of the Year,” the only time this citation was given to a children’s book, and a “Notable Social Studies Books for Young People.” All of her books from Gingerbread House, and many from her other publishers have been named by the American Booksellers’ Association to their “PicksList,” and many of them are available in paperback.
