Shelly Glazier, M.Ed. a licensed marriage and family therapist, has taught courses on medical emergency awareness in Brandeis University’s BOLLI program. She also managed a pediatric practice, and worked as a medical administrator for Boston Children's Hospital Pediatric Medical Association.
After my husband, a physician, died I found myself drawn to the issues of medical awareness.
For me, Save Your Life is a tribute to my late husband, who practiced medicine for almost fifty years. My hope is this book will continue his work of saving lives.
Personal experiences made me realize that there is huge gap in the public's understanding of how to recognize a medical emergency, when to call 9-1-1, and what to do, or not do, until help arrives.
Medical emergency awareness has become a focal point for me. It has led me to give lectures and teach courses on the topic, and to write a comprehensive, easy to understand book, Save your Life...What to do in a Medical Emergency.
