This is a true story that took place in Spain between 1979 - 1982 while I was in the Unites States Marine Corps.
The story covers why, and how I had arrived in Spain, the two sailors I met that lead to my arrest. What happened through the arrest and trial then appeal of the courts decisions.
A story of the hardships and heartaches along the way that I had to endure while I went through the Spanish court system, time in Rota jail , The two separate times I was in the Navel Brig on base ,and Cadiz prison, To be sentenced five years for a Crime I was innocent of. This is a story that I feel needs to be told.
How there was a lack of U.S. involvement, except to help hold me over for trial.
How the Spanish Government had up to three years to bring me to trial.
How Spain itself was going through a vast political change at the time.
The court and lawyer exspences, being waisted, because spain took advantage of the three year limit.
How I some how feel that I was being used as a pawn in a political game.
