SHANTY TOWN

SHANTY TOWN

By Charmaine Morris

Rosemarie Cullidge is a Jamaican police officer with a huge problem -- she's too rich to be on the force. Half of her brother officers believe she got the money from dealing drugs or ripping off gang dealers while the other half dislikes the fact that she has enough money to never work again but still comes in on a daily basis. But that's not her only problem. Detective Cullidge has an affinity for bad men and three of them are making her life hell: her biggest case went bust when the drug dealer turned cooperator she was responsible for is found murdered and her boss, once her lover, transfers her to a godforsaken part of the island and to top it off, she meets a new man, has sex with him and then finds out he may be questionable because of the gun hidden in his shoes by the bedside.

Cullidge must unravel the mystery surrounding her informants death and figure out why the man she slept with was in the ghetto in the middle of a gun fight between law enforcement officers and gang members...except, he was on the gang's side.

Detective Cullidge is an independent woman who yearns for an ordinary life in extraordinary circumstances. To get this, she must constantly walk the fine lines of a man's world and prove herself over and over again.
