Following on from the success of ‘Scary Bones the Skeleton meets the Pirates of Brownsea Island’, this third story in the Mulberry series is also set in Dorset. In this adventure Scary Bones, the very strange Red String, Sasha and Ben uncover a hidden doorway in the cliffs at Lulworth and, by going through it, enter a lost world of dinosaurs and argumentative cave men. They meet an as yet undiscovered dinosaur called Durdle Doorus, escape the attempts by Ziggy and Zaggy, two very bad cavemen, and Tyrone and Albert, the two monster O’Saurus brothers, who all want to eat them for their supper. With the help their friends Durdle Doorus, Dippy Ludicrous and Terry Dactil, they eventually escape both from being eaten and the lost world. Poor Durdle Doorus, however is not so fortunate and the story ends with a magical myth as to how the famous Durdle Door landmark was created. Sue Burleigh's humourous and detailed illustrations again provide great additions to the story. As with the other Scary Bone adventures, the book comes with a mysterious sealed envelope which should not be opened until the very end of the story.
