The Recorporealization of Female Dancing Bodies

By Kristi Faulkner

Delving into an investigation of the intersection between the fields of dance and technology, Faulkner explores the recorporealization that occurs when live bodies are transformed into screen bodies. The fields of art history, dance for the camera, gender studies, activist art, and dance theory are addressed as feminist art practices are deconstructed to uncover the ways in which the female body may be used to reestablish the definition of what it means to be a woman in the current Western social and political environment.
