Two brothers who couldn't be more different: Toby who is often taken for white, is brilliant at school, goes to college in metropolitan France, and defends the rights of the oppressed; Jaran, with skin as black as night, who never leaves their village and hangs out with the local kids... When toby dies, jaran wanders all night long down dark lanes, wrestling with his memories of the brother he hated and loved too much, the brother with whom he still has so many things to work out.
