The series of Fables of Tao aims to provide a visual and easy format to lead children and young adults into classic Chinese philosophical ideas. The story of the giant fish-bird Peng from Wanderer in Chuang-Tzu was composed with extraordinary imagination and style to express deep ideas that developed into the unique elegance of a Taoist thesis.
King Kong is a professional art tutor for children in Taipei, Taiwan. Years of experience has prepared him to develop his personal artistic style for children’s paintings. He has tried to abandon the restrictions on space, proportion, frame and imagination, which is commonly revealed from the adult perspectives. He creates his paintings with the aim that they are to be enjoyed and embraced by the most naive understandings from children. The image of Huang King Kong (in Chinese the word King Kong can mean mighty Buddhist warriors) is a striking contrast to his passionate and inspiring paintings, which he calls a game of colours. He likes this game and plays it with a child’s heart.
